The Carriage house is a lovely restuarnt right outside of the town of East Greenville. They have an inventive menu, we went for dinner and everything was lovingly prepared and delicious. In addition, they also have an outdoor patio which is an awesome spot for the warmer months and a great idea to plan a private gathering, as they rent it out for events. A hidden valley gem.

The Carriage House is a nice spot just outside of East Greenville. Although the decor is a bit bland for such a beauty of abuildin, the food is executed very well, service is the best, and the prices are reasonable. Had a very nice visit and will definitely be back

Had my son's first holy Communion party in their catering hall just off the main resturant. The day was perfect & the weather was so nice, they open the "tent like" walls for the spring air could just flow in! The food and staff was so good, my 40 guest couldn't say enough about this party! Thank you Donna for making this blessed day so memorable! -The Lendvay Family

I really was hoping for a good meal! Unfortunately, this was not to be. There are quite a few things that could've been better. First, the restaurant is huge with a lovely outdoor area. I can't figure out why they put me in a small room and then seated people at three out of the four tables - there seemed to be some confusion between the staff about seating and allocation of patrons - i asked for a seat on the patio once i discovered that they had one. Second, call me picky, but when I ask a waiter or waitress what they like on the menu I really want them to have an opinion. Responses like "everything is good", or "everything is there for a reason" don't cut it. Third, I chose the veal shitake. it was completely bland, and over cooked and then thrown on the plate diner style (veal, mushroom, crab tidbits, potatoes, asparagus and three confused cherry tomatoes that seem to be out of place on my plate) and then drowned with runny tasteless sauce. For $27 I expected more. The Jamison Publick House is in the same price category, but is so so much better than the Carriage House. I won't be back for Limbo on Saturday!

just ok. our server, Leah, was great but the food was lacking. $30 each for our steak entrees. tender meat but my medium steak was completely cooked inside. the lettuce in our salad was brownish, you know, that rusty color on edges- i would have never served this salad to a guest in my home- no care. bland potatoes, slightly overcooked broccoli. great martini and wine, awesome dessert. i could have done a better job at home and saved $150.

Been here a few times in the past for catered events. Went here with my sister and brother-in-law a few weeks ago. Totally worth the visit. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very personable. Started with a flight of draft beer. We started our foodie night with mussels, beer battered brie, and lobster mac and cheese. I will start with the mussels. Perfectly cooked in a white wine garlic herb sauce. So good, my sister "not a big mussel fan" ate half of them and even my brother-in-law who doesn't do shellfish even ate a few. The best part was, not a bit of sand in the batch! The baked brie was phenomenal. All I can say is wow. Lastly, was the special lobster mac. This was truly a "special" dish. We were fortunate enough to get the last or one of the last ones. Creamy and flavorful. My meal was the prime rib. It was a nice cut of meat and cooked exactly as I asked. The green beans were well seasoned with just the right amount of crunch. My sister and brother-in-law both got specials and loved their dishes. They were both delicious, but my prime rib was so good, I just remember they got seafood dishes. I finished off the night with a delicious Irish coffee and berry crunch dessert topped with vanilla ice cream that I could not help devouring, despite being so full from the rest of the food. Hats off to the chef and his wife, who are wonderful hosts. Definitely a must try in the area!!

We will go back again. Going to restaurants for me is a big challenge. I have Early Onset Alzheimer's - the noise & conversations from other dinners pulls me into confusion quickly. For my husband's birthday he wanted to go to the Carriage House with another couple. We went at 4:30 to avoid the evening crowd, but we were still concerned about confusion. Bob, the owner, was FANTASTIC! They seated us in a small room with 4 tables and didn't seat anyone in the room until we were done. With no noise or conversations around I was able to totally enjoy the meal and companionship with no confusion. I haven't done that in 2 years! The meal was great and our waitress was very polite. It was a wonderful experience.

The owners of the Carriage House sent me a Yelp message asking me to re-think my responses. I haven't been there in over a year, but I remember the place was very nice and comfortable atmosphere. I looked at their menu online and it looks like they added more choices for dinner. The food was good and the prices were pretty much comparable for what you get. Sorry I can't remember more, but I think 4 stars is accurate because it was good food, good service, and we had a great time. It wasn't an " I will come here every week" place but great for a special occasion.

Had our my birthday dinner here. Outstanding scallops broiled to perfection, appetizers were tasty, oysters and mushrooms and clams and shrimp. Staff very friendly and attentive,,,,,dessert was outstanding as well. Got a package deal with the Globe Inn, was a great deal indeed. Looking forward to returning for another scrumptious meal next time that we stay at the Globe Inn.

I will agree with some who said it is a bit pricy. Not on par with typical chain restaurants for price. Steaks run Around 25-30. But that being said the food was really good. Me and the wife had two ribeyes and the quality was on par with a high class place like a Ruth Chris so while more expensive then a $$ place it is a good value. Also had the strudel mushroom appetizer which was amazing. And topped it off with an international coffee cocktail and scrumptious desert. Worth a trip.

Went to Schultheis' Carriage House for dinner this past Valentine's weekend. This place oozes character. From the outside where you can envision people of ages long past pulling up in their horse and buggies, to the inside where the huge planks of wood that make up the floor make it appear like you could have just stepped into the restaurant as it was over 200 years ago. The decor throughout is fitting for the age of the building and the style of restaurant - stone, wood and country flair abound. The foyer is nothing more than a small hall that meets a set of stairs in front of you leading to upstairs dining, a dining area to the right and the bar area to the left, with just enough room for the hostess' podium. Speaking of the bar area the bar here is VERY small. I counted 14 chairs including the 4 that were at the 2 tiny elevated tables on the wall opposite the bar. The only reason any of this is significant is that there is almost no room to stand and wait in the foyer due not only to its small size but also the fact that servers with full trays are constantly moving through this area and the bar isn't a much bigger respite. For an appetizer we shared the Tyrolean Mushroom Strudel. It consists of seasoned forest mushrooms, bacon, onions and pine nuts wrapped in a flaky pastry drizzled with a porcini demi-glace. It was flaky, earthy and very satisfying. For my salad I got a fresh gorgonzola cream dressing (upscale blue cheese) that was delicious. The greens looked very fresh. For the main course I ordered Seafood Pescatore with sautéed Brazilian lobster, shrimp, scallops, and mussels over a bed of linguini with a scampi sauce. I am not big on mussels, but the seafood was so fresh that I even enjoyed them. My wife got the Broiled Haddock topped with a butter crumb topping. Both entrees were delicious and fairly large. We took leftovers home from each. Service from our waitress was very friendly and attentive. In fact it was some of the best service I've had in a while. The only minor complaint I have service wise was that the hostess could have been a bit more welcoming and friendly. She seemed a tad cold and a bit too much "all business" if you know what I mean. This seems to be a common trait of the host/hostess at fine dining restaurants though so I just mention it for what it's worth. Schultheis' Carriage House isn't cheap but unlike some fine dining restaurants you really get your money's worth. It's a really great restaurant in an area where there's a shortage of upscale restaurants.
